Communications Intern (Part-Time)

  • Eager to build practical experience and understand how a communications function operates within a company 
  •  Comfortable handling routine information, organizing content, and working with data 
  • Takes initiative, stays on top of tasks, and follows through with minimal supervision 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re looking for a part-time intern to support our Communications team. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in communications, marketing, or business administration to contribute directly to a core part of our business while gaining valuable real-world experience. 

Below are some key qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Digital Media, or a related field) 
  • Expected graduation in Spring 2026 or later 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Ability to work up to 29 hours per week onsite 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or data reporting tools 
  • Previous internship or field or industry exposure is a plus, but not required 
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality of company information 
  • Demonstrated abilities that support internal and external stakeholders 

 Critical Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Experience managing communications across various social media platforms, and an understanding of how to leverage the strengths of each channel: 
  • LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube.
  • Strong project management and organization skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Working knowledge of the basic tenets of traditional marketing and public relations is a plus but not required 
  • Knowledge of media relations basics is a plus but not required 

 What You’ll Do 

As an intern, you’ll support a range of activities within our Communications team, working closely with our External Relations team. You’ll gain exposure to the day-to-day functions of corporate and executive communications, including media tracking, internal initiatives, and public-facing work. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

  • Collecting and organizing daily media clips 
  • Managing, processing and tracking charitable contribution requests 
  • Supporting invoice processing and documentation 
  • Support department business planning and strategy meetings through creation and distribution of agenda, meeting logistics, reminders, consolidation of presentations, etc. 
  • Serve as webpage administrator by regularly updating pages and ensuring accurate information is posted 
  • Maintain files (electronic and hard copy) and coordinate regular records retention reviews 
  • Drafting content for social media and internal communications 
  • Monitoring the media inbox and routing incoming inquiries 
  • Participating in team meetings and supporting active communications projects 
  • Managing External Relations inventory of supplies (graphics, swag)
