CVJP is a nonprofit public-interest organization that supports justice-involved veterans through alternative sentencing, diversion programs, and holistic services. Case Manager interns gain hands-on experience in social services, client advocacy, and veteran support while working closely with staff and leadership.
Responsibilities include:
- Orientation and training in veteran services and CVJP programs
- Client intakes, assessments, and follow-ups
- Tracking criminal and non-criminal cases
- Connecting veterans with resources including housing, mental health, substance abuse treatment, and employment services
- Maintaining case files and documentation
- Observing and participating in client meetings, court hearings, and service coordination
- Exposure to nonprofit operations: grant writing, communications, and outreach
- Networking and training opportunities with partner organizations, legal professionals, and service providers
Qualifications:
- Graduate or undergraduate student in social work, psychology, criminal justice, public health, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in veteran services, criminal justice reform, or social services
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
