Schlossberg & Umholtz is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 1–3 years of legal experience to join our growing workers’ compensation defense team. We service clients throughout the entire state of California and offer attorneys the opportunity to gain meaningful litigation experience while working alongside experienced practitioners.
Recent bar graduates are encouraged to apply. No prior workers’ compensation experience is required—we train the right candidate. Our firm provides hands-on training and mentorship to help attorneys develop strong litigation skills and build a successful career.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legal principles, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a genuine interest in helping clients navigate complex legal matters.
As an Associate Attorney, you will work closely with our experienced partners and supportive staff to deliver exceptional legal representation and achieve favorable outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation cases from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
- Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Collaborate with clients to gather information and build strong cases.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
- Stay current on developments in workers’ compensation law and regulations.
Qualifications
- Admission to the State Bar and in good standing (or awaiting bar results)
- 1–3 years of legal experience preferred, but not required. If you are motivated and eager to learn, our team is happy to provide the training and mentorship needed to help you succeed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
