Position Overview
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second-largest public school district in the nation, is actively seeking passionate, dedicated, and qualified teachers to join our team. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans aligned with California State Standards.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including English Learners and students with special needs.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and track student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral documentation.
Climate, Culture, and Curriculum
- Promote a culturally responsive and anti-bias learning environment.
- Foster a sense of belonging and safety for all students.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive staff culture.
- Embrace and implement district-approved curricula and educational technology to enhance student learning.
Classroom Management
- Implement consistent, developmentally appropriate behavior management strategies.
- Build strong relationships with students and families to encourage engagement and accountability.
- Uphold high expectations while providing positive behavioral supports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and academic excellence for all students.
- Interest or experience working with children or youth in an educational or related setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and contribute to a professional learning community.
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment screening.
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified time frame).
- Must meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements.
- Must be committed to completing all credentialing and certification requirements as mandated by the State of California and LAUSD.
