Now Hiring: Teachers – Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Position Overview

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second-largest public school district in the nation, is actively seeking passionate, dedicated, and qualified teachers to join our team. We are committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive educational environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans aligned with California State Standards.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including English Learners and students with special needs.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and track student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral documentation.

Climate, Culture, and Curriculum

  • Promote a culturally responsive and anti-bias learning environment.
  • Foster a sense of belonging and safety for all students.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive staff culture.
  • Embrace and implement district-approved curricula and educational technology to enhance student learning.

Classroom Management

  • Implement consistent, developmentally appropriate behavior management strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families to encourage engagement and accountability.
  • Uphold high expectations while providing positive behavioral supports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and academic excellence for all students.
  • Interest or experience working with children or youth in an educational or related setting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers and contribute to a professional learning community.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment screening.
  • CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified time frame).
  • Must meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements.
  • Must be committed to completing all credentialing and certification requirements as mandated by the State of California and LAUSD.
