Role Description
We are seeking an Associate Therapist (AMFT, ASW, or APCC) to join our private practice team in Garden Grove, CA. This is a W-2 employee position working under the weekly supervision of a licensed therapist (LMFT/PsyD), fully compliant with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about working with diverse populations, values professional growth, and wants strong supervision while developing clinical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families (in-person and via Telehealth)
- Co-facilitate therapy groups, including anger management and skills-based classes
- Complete timely progress notes and maintain HIPAA-compliant records in EHR
- Attend weekly individual supervision with licensed supervisor; participate in case consultation
- Collaborate with the practice team on treatment planning and group program development
- Support outreach efforts and represent practice values in the community
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Current California BBS registration (AMFT, ASW, APCC) – active Associate Number required
- Knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, DSM-5, and legal/ethical standards
- Strong clinical writing and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; experience with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients preferred
- Group therapy interest or experience a plus
- Second language (Vietnamese, Chinese, or Spanish) is a big plus
- Flexible schedule; some evenings/weekends may be required
