Signal Hill Petroleum is seeking a creative and motivated Part-Time Social Media Content Creator to join our Community Relations Department. This hands-on role will focus on creating engaging photo, video and digital content highlighting our employees, community involvement, educational initiatives, company culture and other approved activities.
The ideal candidate is creative, comfortable behind and in front of the camera when needed, and enjoys turning everyday moments into engaging social media content.
Key Responsibilities
• Create engaging photo, video and short-form content for social media platforms.
• Capture content at community events and highlight company initiatives and branding.
• Film and edit Reels, employee features, educational videos and behind-the-scenes content.
• Develop creative content ideas and help bring social media campaigns to life.
• Support the social media content calendar by capturing and preparing content for upcoming posts.
• Write captions and create simple branded graphics.
• Stay current on social media trends and bring new content ideas to the team.
• Track basic social media performance to help identify content that resonates with audiences.
• Assist with additional social media and digital communications projects as needed.
Qualifications
• Experience creating content for social media.
• Strong photography, video and editing skills.
• Understanding of reels, video editing and current social media trends.
• Creative eye with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable behind the camera and appearing on camera when needed.
• Organized, reliable and comfortable working with employees, community partners and the public.
• Ability to take direction while also bringing creative ideas to the team.
Preferred: Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms.
A background in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media or a related field is a plus.
Applicants should be prepared to provide a portfolio or examples of previous social media, photography and/or video work.
